Vanesa Pacheco

Vanesa Pacheco (she/ella) is a Latina poet. She received her BA from Wheelock College and her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Southern Maine.

Vanesa’s fascination with languages and translation has inspired her to blend English and Spanish in all creative writing forms with her love for surrealism, horror, and nature. She finds dualism and multi-layering a crucial part of life, which has led her to experiment with erasure poetry.

Vanesa writes about the human body and its functions. She writes what we love, lust, hate, and need. She writes to make people uncomfortable. She writes to challenge the norms of poetry as "pretty."

Vanesa was the poetry editor for the literary journal Stonecoast Review and continues to read poetry for them. She has been published in Delirious Hem; The Rain, Party, and Disaster Society; Queen Mob’s Teahouse; Open Letters Monthly; and Solstice Literary Magazine.
